🪶Where Did the September 16th Meeting Go?

ree

On September 16, 2025, we attended a public Board of Selectmen meeting to bring forward serious concerns about how our barn project at 948 Province Road has been handled — including the Building Inspector’s social-media attacks, conflicts of interest, and multiple Right-to-Know and permitting irregularities.

That meeting was video-recorded like every other Barnstead Selectmen meeting, yet it’s the only one that has not been uploaded to the Town’s YouTube channel or summarized by the Barnstead Banner.

For context, here’s what the public heard that night — and what appears to be deliberately withheld from our community:

• We documented that the recused Building Inspector continued to involve himself in our permits after public recusal, despite posting personal and prejudicial comments about us online.

• We showed that the Town’s contracted inspector (MRI) was legally authorized to manage all inspections and approvals, but was blocked from doing so.

• We explained that one of our electrical permit applications was lost, violating RSA 91-A public-record standards.

• We asked the Board to restore transparency by clarifying who holds legal authority, ensuring recused officials stay recused, and preventing any further politicization of routine permits.

We believe our town deserves openness — not selective transparency.

When a municipality chooses to post its meetings publicly, it must do so consistently. Uploading every meeting except the one addressing government accountability undermines public trust and the intent of New Hampshire’s Right-to-Know Law (RSA 91-A).

We’ve requested an official copy of the recording and await a response. Transparency should never be optional.
